The War on Drugs – Bowlegs Session

I’m pretty glad this video just popped up, for quite a few reasons. Firstly, that it’s The War on Drugs, who are probably one of my favourite bands around at the moment; their marriage of laconic, drawling, psyched-out Americana with a rich, shimmering sound and muscular, pumping rhythm ticks a lot of my current boxes. Secondly, that the video is comprised of their recent album’s three best songs; an anthemic triptych of blue collar yearning that I’d been meaning to upload myself for ages. And thirdly, that it serves as a perfect advertisement for their upcoming (well, peeping over the horizon) gig at the Electric Ballroom next February, which should be a belter. GO.
