Grimes – Vanessa

Halfaxa, the album from Montreal songstress, Grimes, was a great discovery last year. It combined the glam-electro poppery of bigger names like Lykke Li with an, ahem, grimier, gothier and, dare I say, witchier aesthetic to create something quite unique. Standout tracks Weregild and Devon were particular highlights that we’ve still got on our playlists now.

She’s about to release a split EP with D’Eon (who recently featured on our Best of March mix) and has directed a video for one of the tracks herself. You can check it out here.
